Associated Technical Terms

Following are the various technical terms associated with the digicams, that will help the readers while selecting the  digicams :

The Resolution of the image is specified in two ways:

                # Dimension in pixels. Eg: 1200*800 pixels

                # Total no. of pixels. Eg: 1200*800=960000 pixels

When this multiplication reaches 1 Million pixels, we call it a Megapixel

The shutter of the camera opens for a short time to let the light in.

This speed controls the exposure and motion of  the image.

Aperture is the small hole through which light enters.

In professional digicams, we can adjust both these features.

Everything shows it's true colour in white. But there a lot of white colours.

ie, Sun light, Tube light , Camera flash etc.

To adjust them a feature called "White balance" is used.

It may contain settings for sunlight, cloudy, tungsten etc.
